Professional Installation & Commissioning Policy

1. Introduction

This Professional Installation & Commissioning Policy outlines the responsibilities and requirements relating to the installation and commissioning of equipment supplied by Titan International.

This policy applies to products including, but not limited to:

  • Air conditioning systems;
  • Marine air conditioning systems;
  • Water heaters;
  • Ventilation equipment;
  • Dehumidifiers; and
  • Related accessories.

2. Importance of Proper Installation

The performance, efficiency and reliability of equipment depend heavily on correct installation and commissioning.

Improper installation may:

  • Reduce efficiency;
  • Affect performance;
  • Increase operating costs;
  • Shorten product lifespan; and
  • Void manufacturer warranty coverage.

3. Qualified Personnel

Titan International strongly recommends that products requiring technical installation be installed by suitably qualified and competent personnel.

Where installation is carried out by third parties, customers are responsible for ensuring that such personnel possess the appropriate qualifications, licences and experience.

4. Site Suitability

Customers are responsible for ensuring that the installation site is suitable for the intended equipment.

This includes:

  • Adequate structural support;
  • Suitable electrical supply;
  • Proper drainage arrangements;
  • Sufficient ventilation;
  • Safe access for installation personnel.

Titan International reserves the right to postpone or refuse installation where site conditions are unsuitable.

5. Electrical Requirements

Customers are responsible for ensuring that electrical installations comply with applicable regulations and are suitable for the equipment supplied.

Titan International shall not be liable for damage resulting from:

  • Incorrect voltage;
  • Inadequate protection devices;
  • Faulty wiring;
  • Power surges;
  • Existing electrical defects.

6. Existing Systems

Where new equipment is connected to existing systems, Titan International shall not be responsible for faults or failures arising from:

  • Existing pipework;
  • Existing drainage systems;
  • Existing electrical installations;
  • Equipment supplied by third parties.

Additional works required to remedy such defects may incur extra charges.

7. Commissioning

Commissioning procedures are intended to verify that equipment is operating correctly at the time of installation.

Commissioning does not guarantee future performance where conditions subsequently change.

8. Third-Party Installations

Where equipment supplied by Titan International is installed by third parties, Titan International accepts no responsibility for:

  • Incorrect installation methods;
  • Improper refrigerant charging;
  • Pipe sizing errors;
  • Drainage defects;
  • Wiring faults;
  • Water leaks;
  • Damage caused by non-compliance with manufacturer instructions.

9. Marine Air Conditioning Systems

Marine installations present unique operating conditions.

Customers are responsible for ensuring:

  • Suitable seawater circulation systems;
  • Proper vessel access;
  • Adequate electrical supply;
  • Compliance with manufacturer requirements.

Titan International shall not be responsible for failures arising from:

  • Corrosion;
  • Water ingress;
  • Vessel modifications;
  • Inadequate cooling water flow;
  • Third-party workmanship.

10. Water Heaters

Customers are responsible for ensuring:

  • Correct water pressure;
  • Suitable water quality;
  • Proper safety devices;
  • Compliance with local regulations.

Titan International shall not be responsible for failures caused by:

  • Excessive limescale;
  • Improper pressure conditions;
  • Incorrect installation.

11. Maintenance

Regular maintenance is essential for reliable operation.

Customers are responsible for carrying out maintenance in accordance with manufacturer recommendations.

Failure to maintain equipment may:

  • Reduce efficiency;
  • Affect performance;
  • Void warranty coverage.

12. Additional Works

Installation quotations are based on information available at the time of assessment.

Additional works discovered during installation may result in additional charges.

No additional works will be carried out without customer approval.

13. Limitation of Liability

Titan International shall not be liable for:

  • Indirect losses;
  • Consequential losses;
  • Loss of profits;
  • Business interruption;
  • Damage caused by third-party installers;
  • Losses arising from unsuitable site conditions.

Nothing contained in this policy limits any rights available under applicable law.

14. Statutory Rights

This policy operates alongside applicable Maltese and European Union legislation.

Nothing contained herein shall restrict any statutory rights available to consumers.
